4-Day Paris to the Bulge on a Budget Tour - 2020

Bulge_Budget_D4

Introduction

The 4-day Paris to the Bulge on a Budget Tour is a downscaled version of our 8-day Battle of the Bulge Tour focusing on the surprise Ardennes Offensive launched by Hitler. This shorter trip is perfect for those who will already be vacationing in Europe and wish to add a visit to the Bulge before or after a stay in Paris without braving the December anniversary weather. This 4-day tour lets you explore America’s stiffest test in World War II: see where the 101st Airborne held the line during the siege of Bastogne, visit the finest museums in the world dedicated to the Ardennes Offensive and pay tribute to the fallen heroes at the Luxemburg American Cemetery.

Itinerary

  • Passengers are greeted at the Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris, France and transferred by coach to Bastogne. In the evening there is an introduction to the tour and a chance for passengers to introduce themselves over a welcome drink.

  • In the morning we explore war sites in and around Bastogne, including the Nuts Cave, the Patton Monument, the foxholes of the Bois Jacques and the town of Foy. In the afternoon we visit the Mardasson Monument, which pays tribute to the Allied resolve during this critical period. After that, you will have the chance to visit the brand new Bastogne War Museum which is dedicated to the Battle of the Bulge.

  • The day starts off with traveling to the Luxembourg American Cemetery, the final resting place of many paratroopers of the 101st and General George S. Patton. Still in the morning you will have the chance to visit the Diekirch National Military History Museum of Luxembourg with the world’s largest collection of World War II items and installations. We spend the afternoon exploring the northern arc of the Bulge: we travel to Malmedy, La Gleize and Stavelot, where we follow the advance and demise of Colonel Jochen Peiper’s Kampfgruppe and bear witness to the atrocities committed by SS troops.

  • After saying goodbye our guests are taken to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport for their return flights.
